what agendas?

what are you talking about? what is this "fear"?

I agree with the whole thing about judging the band by what you perceive, but what's all the other stuff even about?

I thought what i posted was spot on, and I thought your post was delete worthy simply because you not only didn't add anything to the conversation but you also failed at being humorous. Stay on topic friend.
I'm sorry, it's just that when people start going on about fears and audio/political agendas in a thread that has basically been up to this point... "I think they're punk" or "I think they're grunge"... it just makes me wonder about their sobriety. Is all. I wasn't trying to be funny, seriously I thought you might have been inebriated when you made that post.

I mean I agree with GravitySlips that you were making a valid point it just seemed a sort of strange point to be making considering there had been almost no argument up to that point.

Saying Nirvana's punk is a stupid remark yes they were influeneced by punk but every grunge band was. Bleach had that perfect grunge sound the guitars sounded very similar to bands like Crackerbash and Coffin Break (other grunge bands from Seattle) they had similar hard fast drumming that only grunge bands perfected. Incesticide you can't make any type of come back with that becuase it was a bunch of B-sides. Nevermind had some songs that sounded punk but had that dirty type sound they had back in Bleach just isn't as "hard". In Utero sounds punk but it isn't the record labels and executives wanted that album to be more radio friendly hence why the drums are much more powerful in that album than the rest.
Ohhh and if you think Nirvana's punk please don't dig too deep in grunge music....Becuase you'll get confused hehehe

please use your heads, when Nirvana was formed in the mid-80's the term "grunge" did not even exist!

I wouldn't call them punk, and about the term grunge not existing, so what? it doesn't make them punk.

The rm grunge existed since Green River first formed which was sometime in 1983 ish (just a guess)...Malfunkshun was around since 1983 and The Melvins since 1980 soo the term was used.
