It depends on who you ask, some say Nirvana was the biggest but people who know alot about the scene think there were way better bands than Nirvana, AIC, and Soundgarden sadly most of them got over looked. To me Nirvana was a great band but as for best grunge band I have to decline.

you'd be surprised at his fan base still
The fact that he now sells more memorabilia than Elvis in a year should be a testament to his massive fanbase.

That doesn't mean much to me, sorry. Lyrically and vocal wise Elvis would own Kurts ass anyday. I love Kurt but he can never reach out to as many people as Elvis did/does.

its a bad comparison. Elvis will always take the cake, simply because he was the "king". I wouldn't say lyrically he's better though.

I would like to see Elvis play lead guitar, and sing something like "tourretes".

But then again i'd like to see Kurt Cobain dance...

scratch this i dont know what im trying to get at here...

fuck elvis

gottaSCREM 01-22-2007 06:56 PM

You realy can't compare the two first they came from 2 different time periods in music and the other difference is simply no one and I mean no one can replace the king. Even I admit that Elvis would own Kurt, but the one thing we all can agree on is that both were highly talented musicians.

Not really.

Strummer521 01-22-2007 08:28 PM

I think there's more argument that Elvis and Kurt weren't very talented than arguments that they had talent. I think their iconic status is caused more by their presentation and their personas than anything else. Granted both had some talent. But I can't consider either one a genius or anything
