As the title suggests, LLSS & myself got together to compile a Shoegaze comp for all you out there who are intrigued and /or want to hear some new schizz. It's not a definitive comp and there are many names and tracks that could have been included, we have also deviated a little and included a couple of new bands that incorporate elements of shoegaze but get it anyhow and holler back with opinions.

Tracklisting:

1. Autolux - Turnstyle Blues
2. A Place To Bury Strangers - Missing You
3. Loop - Afterglow
4. My Bloody Valentine - Lose My Breath
5. Alcest - Souvenirs D'un Autre Monde
6. Mogwai - Honey (Spaceman 3 cover)
7. Flying Saucer Attack - For Silence
8. Ride - Dreams Burn Down
9. Swervedriver - Rave down
10. Spacemen 3 - Transparent Radiation (flashback)
11. The Swirlies - Jeremy Parker
12. Lilys - Threw A Day
13. Air Information - Brightest Star At Night
14. Pia Fraus - Yennisey

This is sublime, really good job chaps! I listened to it in order which somehow helped, own a few of the tracks on here but their inclusion was integral to the mix as a whole. Got to say I'm really liking all of the tracks but especially the more recent gems, Turnstyle Blues is a f*cking anthem!... And the French guy who converted from black metal does a mean shoegaze.

I think you successfully got the spectrum of shoegaze vibrations down in one, I'm recommending this to friends... it's such an idiosyncratic genre it makes for superior mixes to most other strains of guitar music methinks. Also well done doing a shoegaze comp and not automatically sticking 'Seagull' on it.

Loop have been mentioned on here before but I never checked em out... according to their Last.fm: ''Some of the records featured covers of Suicide, The Pop Group and Can as bonus tracks'' (??!!)
...Are these worth a-bloghuntin' for?

I saw Loop back in '88 and they were sublime. I recommend them definitely.

If the one old school shoegaze gig I've been to is anything to go by your hearing is probably still recovering? they're really good, a bit more hard-edged but not as Stooge-ified as that first Telescopes album.
Also forgot to mention that Mogwai track, don't believe I've ever heard them with vocals before

They have done a couple of tracks with vocals. I think I maybe should do a Mogwai comp for you lovely people!

Some of this I've never heard (of), so I will give it a spin. Looks interesting enough.
