I'd say these 5 albums, not including the holy cow that is Loveless, exhibit the wall of sound characteristic the most. Others will of course disagree with me on this, but give them all a shot and I think you'll be impressed, they're all classics.

There are other great bands within the genre, Ecstasy of St Theresa, LSD and the Search for God (their one EP is stunning), Lush, Curve, Nightblooms, Catherine Wheel, Moose, Swirlies, Lilys, Pale Saints, Bethany Curve etc... all would be worth your time.
Out of the five that you mentioned, the Medicine and Slowdive albums were the best (especially the latter... that one just blew me away). I also looked into Lilys and found their debut to be rather impressive as well. Thank you for the recommendations.

EDIT: While I was going through these albums, I also came across a group called Black Tambourine... I highly recommend their Complete Recordings compilation.

You should listen to the last Slowdive album Pygmalion as well. It was a radical departure for them but they somehow managed to create a stunning experimental minimalist ambient album. It takes a few listens to get into at first but when it clicks with you it takes you to another world. It's an album that really sounds like nothing else.

Yea, I decided to listen to that as well. I think it's just as enjoyable as Souvlaki is in my opinion.

Yeah I hold the two of them in the same esteem now, both magical albums.

Downloaded Black Tambourine's Complete Recordings at your recommendation and going to give it a listen.

I have that on vinyl...Black Tambourine are one of the bands that shaped shoegaze. Even with such a tiny amount of music, they were pretty influential. They are definitely an interesting band for that reason.

I can certainly tell they were definitely a huge influence on noise pop. There were a few songs where the first thing that came into my mind was Vivian Girls. A very enjoyable band I must say. Apparently it's not all their recordings, they seem to have a few other songs that are not on this collection.

Black Tambourine remind me of The Pastels, mixed with early Mary Chain noise. I like them a lot, 'Throw aggi off the bridge' is a classic.

This is the first time I've posted here after reading for a while now.

I play in a shoegaze band! Here is a link to one of our tracks: youtube.com/watch?v=DdqTgwh8OEk

Magnetic Morning is a collaboration between Swervedriver's Adam Franklin and Interpol's Sam Fogarino. Sounds a bit like a hollowed out Swervedriver really but their 2008 debut album A.M. isn't a bad listen.

I posted this in the Albums You're Digging thread a while back, but felt it would be more appreciated here:

They've got Dean Garcia from Curve and some people from a couple other lesser known shoegaze bands. They just have this EP out, but from this song alone I can't wait to hear a full length.
