I agree on the come save us bit, i think it is a fantastic song, although the first time i heard it, it was on youtube, and the intro there is substantially shorter than the album version, and every time i try and get my friends to listen, they get bored waiting on the album intro and just turn it off.

Really good band though

ride is easily my favorite Shoegazing band. I mean Andy Bell is just a genius listen to Nowhere that is just a pure classic. They never could top it mostly due to the whole brit pop thing taking over but Nowhere is one of the most underrated albums ever.

Thanks I love this comp! But I'm thoroughly confused, why do you call it Air Information? The band is Air Formation right? Maybe I'm missing something...

Yes it's Air Formation, it was just a fault by Jackhammer. We all make mistakes now don't we?

Haha of course, to err is human. I was just confused thought maybe I had the wrong band name all this time somehow. Lets get some shoegaze discussion going on! Favorite band anyone? And why.

The Telescopes are the full package for me, their first album Taste (1989) was pure noise filtered through a red mist and their self-titled second album (1994) was the opposite, it's after the shoegaze boom when the music press had tired of it and arguably the last great album of that first wave... It ties a nice little bow around the appeal of the whole genre for me. It was nu-psychedelia, whimsical and simple, just really escapist. The Telescopes could play as well and with that second record they just completely indulged in the studio, there are plenty of layers to unveil on repeated headphone listens (ideally by computer monitor light)... That's my answer.

Has anyone noticed that shoegaze bands back in the day loved the the winter season? Now it's all about summer with these nu-gaze bands. I've never really cared for winter myself actually, so I think it's kind of refreshing.

i've noticed a lot of the shoegaze-influenced groups have quite twee sensibilities now and like you say are really summer-y... i miss the lanky-haired, mac-wearing teenagers from which the genre got it's name.. shoegaze sold out mang

i got told i looked like the lead singer from Teenage Fanclub in this video. Long time ago still but at the time it seemed like a huge compliment... anyway call me a purist but this is what shoegaze bands should f*cking look like, you don't see Kevin Shields wearing skinny jeans and looking like he spent an hour infront of the mirror do you

Belinda looked like she was 17 when she joined MBV... I'd tap it.
