Help broadening rock taste (blues, funk, metal, beatles, rolling stones)

Im currently trying to broaden my taste in rock/metal i get rather nitpicky about frontmen with the voice thats high and squeeky like the acadamy is.. I like stuff with catchy guitar riffs and a good solo every now and again. Some help would be greatly appreciated
