I know I'm missing out on a lot of kick ass bands.

Who is some of your favorite (modern) metal guitarist?
I`ve tried to keep it modern and only included people that are alive, I`ve not put in too many extreme metal guitarists as I know thats too much metal for you. These are just a sprinkling of guitarists that are normally highly rated in modern metal. I tried to keep off naming too many power metal guitarists, as I`m on something of a power metal binge at the moment

Jeff Loomis-Nevermore
Troy Azagthoth- Morbid Angel
Phil Demmel-Machine Head
Timo Tolkki-Startovarius
Daron Malakian-System of a Down
Mark Morton-Lamb of God
John Schaffer-Iced Earth
Kai Hansen-Gamma Ray
Fredrik Thordandal-Meshuggah
Mike Pike-High on Fire

What I meant to say, Necromancer, was that I read that that song was a "F You!" to non-fans of the band talking down on the band. I understand they're highly technical, but the vocals make me want to rip my ears off.

Meshuggah, now that I can dig.

Anyway I haven't listened to any of their work besides that radio single I accidentally heard when I was in my friends truck and he had the radio on, and the game Rock Band had a couple tracks of theirs that I played and whooped the crap out of on expert guitar (but yes, pretty difficult)

Very good bruh-ddah

I don't mean to bag on them too much. If you enjoy their work, awesome! It's mostly the vocals that keep me away. The guitarist knows his chops for sure. The band is very technical which I like, but just not for me.

The fact that their vocalist was part of that horrible abortion of a band Motograter has kept me away from paying any attention to them. My friend really likes them, though.
