I'm sorry, if we're pointing out the blatantly obvious here you can't just pretend 'Rust in Peace' doesn't exist, no matter how much it may scare you

Well knowing that Metallica have some of the same vocal strategics as Trivium and Slayer and seeing as i dont like those bands, i'll not be surprised if Metallica puts out a **** of an album

So i suppose im going with Disturbed on this one.

Whoops, I meant 17 years. RIP is the last thing they've recorded that's even worth listening to, IMO.

i think it's Metallica. They've missed by most of their fans. It's been a while since they did a good album =)

I think either way I'd prefer shutting my face in a car door.

why are they being compared anyway? i mean, metallica might be crap, but there's no comparison with disturbed - disturbed are like a million notches bellow M

so you're saying that comparing disturbed and metallica is just like someone comparing tool with nickelback.

I have been trying my ass off for a few days to find something worthwhile from Metallica that is somewhat new. Everything is terrible. It feels like watching the American Idol auditions. They suck monkey balls now and don't even realize it. The vocals are crap, the music is held together fairly well, but it just doesn't feel real. I think I've been holding on to hope for to long that they would come up with something good. The band has become to cocky and seem to have the opinion that anything they release has to be good. The only ones buying their music seem to be mallcore kids. Its a shame really. A band with so much talent gone to waste. Metallica has always been one of my favorite bands. I stuck it out for 20 years hoping for something good again. It is true that I was 10 when "Justice" came out, but when the black album came out, I knew it was off and didn't care much for it. I suppose that I always have the first 4 studio albums to enjoy but today is the day that I give up hope in Metallica ever releasing anything decent again. 20 years after Metallica turned their back on their real fans, I'm turning mine on them.

Yeah, well as was KINDA prior established, that was a joke. As if it wasn't obvious and you couldn't figure that out for yourself. Oh hang on, you couldn't...SAD!

In all honesty though, I've been thinking about this a bit more and maybe the comparison in this thread isn't too crazy afterall. "Ten Thousand Fists" was pretty much better than anything Metallica have done since the early 90s. And Believe probably was as well. So I guess in reality the chances of Metallica's next album being considerably more sucky than Disturbed's turn out to be pretty good afterall. Who'da thunk it!
