Are you saying that the only bands you are really familiar with are Nirvana, the SPs and Metallica, and on that basis you've managed to decipher that the 90s were the golden age of music and that all music today is sh*t? I salute you, sir.

i forgot all about the 90's for a minute. thanks for the reminder.

speaking of the 90s a band that i am not real familiar with, silverchair came out in the mid 90s. not real impressed but i guess it was ok for 16 year old boys. a friend of mine saw them in chicago not long ago and said that she really liked their new stuff. i can't post links but the vid is on you tube- silverchair straightlines- they have been described as indie, but you know how that description is, let me know what ya think

If I am not mistaken, Silverchair was only 14 when they came out. I actually liked them when they came out. They were good for their age. I have all of their albums up thru the one that had Anthem for the Year 2000 on it. I listened to the video on You Tube and that was aweful to listen to. They seem to have sold out!

BTW, this is my first post here!

To add to the list of bands from the '90s:

Korn
Creed
Disturbed (2000, sorry)
Matchbox 20 (although they suck now)
Live
Bush
Fuel
Cold
Finger Eleven
Godsmack
Sevendust
Staind
1st Slipknot album
Deftones
Rob Zombie
Drain STH (all women)
Alice in Chains

Some of these bands started in '98-99, but that is some of the goods from back then.

Also, if I am not mistaken, their name came from the Nirvana song Sliver, but they misspelled it and came up with Silver.

They recorded their debut album 'Frogstomp' in just 9 days when they were only 15 years old. That's a very impressive feat.

yes impressive feat, but it makes more sense now why it sounded the way it did. i have been listening to them since this first post and it seems a lot of their songs repeat the same lines. something about coldsores and cream, i dunno kind of weird. but would you happen to know what the song 'anna' is all about? cuz it really reminds of aneroxia.
