Why wouldn't they be?

Since when were metal bands considered not metal bands just for having a commercial sound and generally being crap?

Korn has never played metal. Being heavy and dissonant does not equal metal.

Korn is Nu-Metal as we all know, which is a type of Metal. I understand the dislike of Nu-Metal by fans of other types of Metal, however they still fall under the larger title of Metal.

I don't rule them out of metal for having a commercial sound.....I feel like they rely alot on bass sounds for most of their songs.....I don't know what to classify them as but I just don't see them as metal...they'd probably fit better into Hard Rock or Alternative. Sometimes they throw in some industrial sound effects.

Metallica actually annoys me quite a bit. I don't see how they could be the birth of such great music...

They don't sound that different to all the funk metal bands in the early 90s , they were considered metal.

Funk metal is not a real genre... and the term sounds like RATM, Primus, and Faith No More being incorrectly labeled.

I was actually referring to bands such as Mordred & Mind Funk who all started off from thrash backgrounds.

I sampled Mindfunk, only their first album really sounds like metal. And that album sounds nothing like Korn. Their other two albums sound more like grunge or alternative and didn't sound very metal at all, but they remind more of Korn.

Mordred sounds more like that funky thrash. It feels more like gimicky type deal, going overboard with the funk over a general thrash routine. This doesn't sound like Korn at all either.

So in other words they're not metal based on a technicality

Ok then.
