You need to get your facts straight.

Jimmy Page never tapped, ever. He didn't tap in Heartbreaker. Learn the difference between hammer ons and tapping, they're two completely different techniques. EVH credited Pages hammer ons as an influence on his tapping technique, but its not the same thing.

How on earth could someone compare the two?? Eddie Van Halen >>>>>>>>>>> Herman Li. Herman Li would not be playing the way he does if it wasnt for Eddie Van Halen.

Do you like metal? Because if you do, list your favorite metal guitarists, I'm sure more than half of them are influenced by Eddie Van Halen.

eddie no doubt..... hes liks 10 times better at the least

djchameleon 12-17-2007 07:50 AM

This isn't even a fair comparison Eddie hands down

Considering the fact that Herman Li's playing is sped up digitally and that he can't actually play anything as fast as it is on their records, this poll is a joke. I mean, seriously, just listen to a Dragonforce song and you can hear how the attack on each note is all fuzzy and quick.

EVH, hands down, is the better guitarist. Herman Li? ....Shit's weak

Who care whos the best they are all good if people like them, I like Dragon Force and Van Halen both and they are both very skilled, but I think that Eddie has a bit more experience on the guitar.

Eddie, but not really the best. li is a joke, if you like tapping solos, then he's ur guy otherwise pffffft.

Where do you even hear that? I've never heard that before and I have two friends who saw them live, both say he played just as fast live.

It's just the way it sounds....you can tell that it's sped up. Guitars just don't sound like that. If not sped up, it's HEAVILY edited. They played here not too long ago and I know plenty of people who went. Everyone said they played everything way slower than the recorded versions.
