I loved Bungalow Bill ever since first listen. Well, maybe we can agree that a song some listeners vote among the worst Beatles songs, "Wait," is cool. |

Q magazine did an article about this about 10 yrs. ago. Worst songs by great bands and great songs by crap bands. The former was Maxwell's silver hammer. Cant' remeber what won the latter. Other songs on the list were
Banafishbones by The Cure I keep mine hidden by The Smiths. Can't remember any more.

Shiny Happy People? Harsh! Great song I think was my opinion at the time when I bought it on vinyl.

Yeah, The Top (1984) is a very bumpy ride, although I may have to vote for "Give Me It" from that album. The sound of a bunch of luggage falling down the stairs while cats scream and Robert yelling all around.
...a bit ashamed to admit, but I used to like that song when I first got it back in '84! |

I know I'm getting into a Pop Zone here, but...
Human League - their cover of Rock Me Again and Again and Again and Again and Again and Again (Six Times). If anyone wants to find out why Hysteria sank like the Titanic after it's brief success and lead off single "The Lebanon," this very ill-fated cover of a James Brown classic is a start. As for the rest of the album, I will put in a vote for "I Love You Too Much," a song that may have had the keyboards on the usual settings, but with the song still sounding phoned in, something that made me wonder if Dare was a true deal with The Devil (You will record one of the most world-conquering Electro Pop works of all time, but then you will seriously crap out by the time of your next full album). They had some great songs after that album, but you know what I mean. Last edited by Screen13; 05-20-2012 at 03:35 PM. |
