Xarius 01-25-2004 11:36 AM

Travis Barker may not be the ebst, but he is good.

siegfried88 02-09-2004 05:43 PM

John Longstreth-Origin/Skinless
Martin Lopez-Opeth
Derek Roddy-Hate Eternal

banonbush 02-09-2004 06:34 PM

tjvodal from Cryptopsy is the best ever, but not too many people know cryptopsy (unless you're into black metal)

siegfried88 02-09-2004 09:07 PM

A:I know cryptopsy
B:The drummer is Flo Mournier, and yes he rocks
C:Cryptopsy is most definitely not black metal

2tonelol 02-11-2004 05:07 AM

Mitch Mittchell - Jimi Hendrix

Undoubtedley the greatest drummer that ever was!!

banonbush 02-11-2004 08:05 AM

That's funny, I'm doubting it.

2tonelol 02-11-2004 08:41 AM

Then crank up the Jimi and stop doubting!!

banonbush 02-11-2004 10:04 AM

DUDE! YOU ROCK!!

Mitch Mitchell and Dave Grohl all the way!

OpethFlames 05-27-2004 08:04 AM

Banonbush you are a moron if you were not being sarcastic with what you said. I would say Mike Portnoy or Hellhammer is the best drummer, to my liking anyway.

Eltiraaz 06-11-2004 07:18 PM

The drummer from Avenged Sevenfold is VERY good. I dont know his name.

Matt Sorum from GnR is very good, I'm loving Velvet Revolver.

I dont really have an absolute amazing favorite drummer or anything.

Thrice 06-11-2004 07:40 PM

The Avenges drummer uis called "The Reverend" They all have *** names like that. He is awesome with the double base, I would also have to say Dave Grohl

Bartender 06-14-2004 10:17 AM

Flo Mournier (Cryptopsy)
Sean Reinert (Cynic, Death, Aghora, Portal)
Gene Hoglan (Dark Angel, Devin Townsend, Death, etc)

Also, he's not a drummer, but Muhammad Suicmez did a great job programming the drum machine for Necrophagist's Onset of Putrefecation album.

EDIT: forgot to add Bobby Jarzombek (Spastic Ink)

FourDayCreep83 06-15-2004 04:03 PM

Ginger Baker - Cream
Neil Peart - Rush

good drummers

SikThInDaHead 07-07-2004 03:02 AM

Joey Jordison
Raymond Herrea-Fear Factory
Dave Lambardo-Slayer

flamingfishbone 08-02-2004 06:43 AM

In my opinion:
Mike Portnoy - Dream Theater
The Reverend - Avenged Sevenfold
Jordan Burns - Strung Out

AmyLeeFan 08-23-2004 09:46 PM

Meg White, and the drummer from Modest mouse.

franscar 08-24-2004 09:10 AM

What's the difference between a drummer and a drum machine?

You only have to punch the information into a drum machine once. Arf Arf.

Bonham was the best, there's a band called The Secret Machines who have an incredible drummer too.

AmyLeeFan 08-25-2004 08:53 PM

STOMP is great, I saw them live once, and they kick major J-Lo butt!

thr33bar 08-26-2004 10:38 AM

I would say Sean Reinert (Cynic) then Chris Pennie (Dillinger Escape Plan)

riseagainstrocks 08-26-2004 04:30 PM

All Black Metal drumming is blast beats that just pound at your skull...aye aye aye. Cryptopsy is ok, Agrophobic Nosebleed is much better if your into heavy. And Pat Thetic is in no way talented. sure he can play but Underground network proves he's just there to keep time. Best drummer ever can never really be said. My personal favorites are

Converge: John DiGiorgio
Between The Buried And Me: Jason Roe

both insanely talented. they switch up styles alot. and John plays single pedal. ya he's that good

ARE YOU JOKING! MEG WHITE GOOD????!?!!!?!?!?!? Or how about she is one of the worst drummers I've ever heard and that isn't an exaggeration. You can like the White Stripes thats your opinion, but don't say Meg White is a talented drummer. She is terrible. Listen to any song by them and she does almost the exact same beat everytime...

sorry about the double post, I think this warranted a seperation from my first post.

tunapickle5 08-26-2004 09:41 PM

i saw travis from blink like 10 years ago when i was a lil girl and always had a big fatty for him ever since, thats when blink was a dirty band and i was like eww he said titty.

breakingbenfan13 09-09-2004 07:58 PM

korn

David Frost 09-09-2004 08:30 PM

its easy... has anyone on here heard of a little band called Discordance Axis?

Dave Witte (Now drums for Burnt By The Sun) best drummer around

breakingbenfan13 09-09-2004 08:57 PM

i have to say in my opinion that both those drummers /band suck thats my opinion but i will agree that evanescence rocks!

riseagainstrocks 09-10-2004 03:31 PM

David: Yes I have and Jason Roe is still better. Listen To Arsonist and More Of My Self To Kill and Camilla Rhodes. WILD STUFF

gdroxandunoit 09-10-2004 04:39 PM

not the best, but my favorite:
Tre Cool (Green Day)

Paul 09-11-2004 07:43 PM

Nick Barker is MAD, get indocterination by dimmu borgir and you will see what i mean

Paul 09-11-2004 07:45 PM

i heard something about nick barker using "triggered drumming" i have nooo idea what it is so if you know...tell me

derek roddy - wicked fast double kick
FLO MOURNIER - just soo fast and can throw down some really technical and great souding beats

Paul 09-11-2004 07:47 PM

there are two areas...creative (good inovative beats) > technical (insanely fast and coordinated)....the only drummers around that have the absolute best of both are metal drummers...u put the drummer for evenescence (f'in JOKE) next the drummer for Cryptopsy....its is a waste of Flo's time

as far as i know.. the drumming on more of myself to kill is a different drummer than that on camillia rhodes. i loved between the buried and me on the first stuff like more of myself to kill. the new stuff isnt as great. anyways didnt the new drummer from btbam use to be in bury your dead or some equally awful band?

hands down Discordance Axis.. dave witte is the best ever.

wacky 09-11-2004 09:52 PM

uuuumm.. I don't know. I don't have a fav drummer, but what I can say is that the more we can hear the drummer and the more the drum beat is fast, that's how I like it. One of my friend drummer really bangs on them, which is really cool :)

your right, lol. I completely forgot. The two drummers are different guys. I don't know about a Bury your Dead but he (the drummer off the self-titled cd) is now in a band were he plays all the instruments and sings. Its supposed to be really soft though quite unlike BTBAM.

Paul, triggered drumming is putting computer connected sensors on drum heads and each time you hit a head its recorded and saved on a computer. this way you can play with the sound alot more. As I Lay Dying does it aw well. I don't like triggered sounds because it doesn't feel as natural. It works in some songs but the vast majority would be better off without triggered drums

David Frost 09-12-2004 07:22 PM

yeah and they speed up and slow down the drum beats as well (i bet alot of you all didnt know that) triggered drumming sucks. guess who doesnt use triggered drumming, or even a double bass pedal?!?

thats right folks.. Dave Witte

canadium 09-12-2004 08:06 PM

I'd have to say that Travis from Blink is quite amazing... I don't necessarily like blink, but you have to admit Travis has mad technical skills and is a large reason for blink's success.

Mark Gajadhar from Blood Brothers can also drum like hell.
