I've just read most of the posts in this thread and I must say... forums can be harsh...
I'm almost positive that the artists who make the music aren't thinking in their head.... "This album I release is going to put me over Hendrix... Page... etc..." Frusciante is a very spiritual being, he loves music for what it is "Music is the face of God" He is my own personal fave, for my own reasons... although I would suggest to someone to listen to him, I would let you be the judge... I would'nt insist on him over throwing your fave because of my opinions... I would hate for any of the artists to read threads like these, where they are compared and then raped upon by the posters because "my guitar god is better than yours..." Love music for what it does and what it is... That's what the musicians do and that's what makes them great... Hope this clarifies where we stand in music today and where the artists do... |

God, I love John. I've had his records for years, but never really got into them until a month or so ago, and they're absolutely amazing. I will admit though, he is almost completely inaccessible (that's probably why it took me so long to get into him in the first place).

Hmmm, I downloaded Shadows Collide with People but wasn't completely impressed. It seemed to rely alot on basic acoustic guitar, which sounded a little bland and I was expecting something more experimental with added guitar wankery.
I think I might download one of his earlier albums and see what I make of that. Last edited by Fruitonica; 10-12-2008 at 09:27 PM. |

I feel like Frusciante is under appreciated a times for his talent. I know he is he super minimal in his creative approach of "less is more" to songs, but he can still melt your face off. He should be recognized more and more within the music community, like he'd even care though.
BTW, Froosh is on the new PFunk CD along with the rest of the Peppers. |

Much better album, thanks for the recomendation.
Some really beautiful guitar on there and musically much more interesting than Shadows, the arrangements seem to have so much more depth. Leaving one half of the album is pretty pretentious, but I have to say that the latter part is the strongest. |
