Looks like he's getting replaced with Josh Klinghoffer from Ataxia although I've never heard of them. He supposedly played on some Beck and Butthole Surfers albums though.
Looks like Frusciante is with The Mars Volta now which should be interesting considering Thomas Pridgen also left The Mars Volta recently. |

The entire By the Way album is probably my favorite, but there are a ton of goodies in all of their albums. Stadium Arcadium was pretty different and cool, but I can't wait for the new stuff to come out this year.
And I don't really think John leaving will affect their energy output at all... in my opinion most of the energy comes from Flea and Chad anyways.

I dunno, they'd have to do something pretty darn exciting to grab my interest again, because they seem to be just plodding along these days to me, there's no wow factor in their music like I used to find...

As a kid in the 1970s in California, we picked teams and decided what to do with sing-songie rhymes: "bubble-gum, bubble-gum, in a dish. How many pieces do you wish..." Chili Peppers songs are done in this fun style.
Favorite song is 'Taste the Pain'. It's about addiction and walking away from addictions. Since I've been a prisioner to addiction, this song gives me hope. |

Hopefully someone good! The last thing they need is a mediocre guitarist to kill whatever buzz they've got left in the tank...

I really did like By the Way. It showed a lot of creativity and growth for a band that already had a lot of moments in the spotlight. Stadium Arcadium was just way too much, though...they were done for me after that. So I don't care.
In fact, I totally support John leaving. I could always tell he had some other creativity bubbling behind those minimalist Peppers licks. I love the guy's solo stuff, and I hope he does something great. I'm also excited for the Mars Volta...John has already done some awesome work with them. The dueling solos on Cicatriz ESP are excellent.
