I still don't think they have made one truly great album, and I do include BSSM in this. I am not a huge fan of the production which is unlike me as i'm a big fan of Rick Rubin.

The last great thing this band did was Aeroplane. I can't stand anything else they've done after that.

Really? I can't find much wrong with BSSM and I like the production.

Californication had crap production.

I didn't like Californication a great deal and By The Way was patchy but entirely understandable considering what they were trying to achieve. I really like a lot of stuff on UPLIFT MOFO PARTY PLAN. Tracks like Behind The Sun hinting at the direction they may have took if Hilel made it. Still a fúcking great band live though. Saw them twice on Mother's Milk tour and they kicked arse.

Check out "fight like a brave." But really, the band then is not the band now. RHCP should go in JH's "catharsis" thread. Didn't they have George Clinton on the reigns then?

LOL? Mainly chords? simple riffs? obviously you have never heard any of their stuff from 1993 and back.
