Tim was still in the band for Manip. I like Tim more than Frank. Frank is super cool too, and a wicked bassist. But like Thrice said..Tim was the band.

Tim was the bassist and back-up vocalist (mostly for screams), and Frank replaced him. Thomas Erak has always been and always will be the guitarist and lead vocalist.

I think Phantom was not very good compared to Ghostship. I Still think the demos were the best followed by st then dop. not a fan of manipulator at all.

Not at all, for being the same songs they arent that cool. Maybe its because phantom lacks the great parts of the demos. Ghostship/chapter iv is an excellent example. The intro is effed up, it lacks the whole energy, the whole BANG BANG BANG... actually the entire chorus sucks, I like the wildness of ghostship, dont enjoy the lame singing of phantom. Everything that was great about the demos was lost in phantom.

and as for the smiley, no joke they are almost the same, thats why I compared those two as opposed to manip and ghostship.

That is probably directly related to Mr. Ward.

I doubt it was because of Tim. Good production can take the punch out of some music, which is probably what happened with you. I, however, like the singing as opposed to the screaming at the start of IV.

Im a big fan of Manip. Probably like s/t and doppel for sure more. But Manip is still awesome. And I like phantom a lot as well...but the original demos are better. The boys are just going in a different directions now a days. A more polished sound.
