Yes, i guess theoretically every genre has its influence on newer genres. But you wouldnt say that, because thats completely retarded. Influences come out in a band's music..you can hear it. The Fall of Troy does not have a big metal influence. End of story. Spend more time listening to them and less time genre naziing them.

I wish people wouldn't use the word NAzi so much in relation to music...I'm not trying to do that, but the arguement went on and on, you know?Anyone know when their next album is being released? I know they just released one, but I hope it's just a year.

They have a new album coming out called Phantom on the Horizon which is a concept album about the band each playing a character in the album. Thomas is a captain of a ship that runs into a "ghosthip" from another dimension and all hell ensues. And im insanely excited about this album..like you have no idea. The album is gunna have 8 tracks, and the Ghostship demos will be re-recorded. (If you havent heard the ghostship demos you need to very badly and i'll be more than happy to upload them for you.) The album is supposed to be out in like 07/early 08.

Sweet! Looks like they're still headed in a progressively softer direction though.

Well, their albums have tended to do that over the last while. But thats only for the plain reason that Thomas, Andrew and Tim and simply experimenting with many new genres of music. And this came out pretty clearly on Manipulator. They're always gunna be an intense and hard band. In my opinion, there are tracks on Manipulator that are more brutal than on previous albums. I love what they're doing with their experimentation. Its the only way to grow as a band. And also, in regards to the ghostship demos..have you heard them?

Nope, I'd love to have them though. I'm suprised how quickly they're releasing their next album though. Hope they didn't rush it.

Once you get into high school you might take biology and learn about such things as convergent evolution. Also, metal was hardly the first genre to speed up a previous genre.

But anyways, I'm looking forward to Phantom on the Horizon. Every song on the Ghost Ship demo was great. I expect it to be better than Manipulator (which was still pretty decent).

Well they've had most of the songs written for a long time.

No I agree, with you...I prefer Doppelganger.
Although I prefer the versions of Whacko Jacko, and Symphony on S/t.
