well supposedly Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" was endorsed by some major figure in the satanic church. and it is said if played backward has some satanic praises on it or something to that effect.

Also Rush has pentacles on several of their albums, as does Slayer.

Iron Maiden has that album "The Number of the Beast".

The Beatles feature the founder of the satanic church on the cover of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"

The Rolling Stones had some song that glorified satan (i forget the name)

The origin of Black Sabbath's name is rooted in the occult. plus they had Ozzy Osbourne

AC/DC's name is rumored to mean after christ, devil comes

i'm just having a major dilemma because i liked Led Zep's music and then i hear about this. I overhear a nice, catchy song... it's Iron Maiden or Black Sabbath. i'm having a hard time reconciling listening to music that is rooted in or is tied to such dark stuff.

i'm not asking for christian boy band rock, i'm just wondering if there are any bands that have similar styles to Led Zep, Iron Maiden, or Rush that aren't satanic?

You mean Tritones? Major and minor 6th's have no "Satanic" or evil sound to them.

Tritones do however.

and listen to Akercoke, Immolation, and Grand Belial's Key.

I, for one, am just messing. I respect your beliefs--assuming you have said beliefs; I hold strong Judeo-Christian values, myself.

Some pretty unsatanic bands: Impetigo, Napalm Death, Embalmer, The Accused, Amebix, His Hero Is Gone, Skaven, Rex Invertigo, Damad, The Old Dead Tree, Sentenced, Municipal Waste, XXX Maniak, Impaled, Carcass, Negative Land, The Cure, Lurk, Boston, Stryper, Genesis, Saga, Haste, Anthrax, Duran Duran, Berlin, Jethro Tull, Advance.

Check them out and enjoy, or not, whatever.

I don't know how hard of music you like or what not, this stuff isn't going to be led zepelin type, but it's all none satanic.

Becoming the Archetype, Demon Hunter, Haste The Day, Skillet, Project 86, Blindside, Mortal Treason, All But Screaming, Anberlin, Relient K, Chevelle, Creed, Dead poetic.

In there, there is every thing from nothing but singing, to nothing but screaming. I'm a metal head, so that's what i like, if you are into the softer stuff, then i would def. check out All But Screaming, Anberlin, Relient K, Creed and Skillet.

hope i helped

WTF is wrong with people here. Someone comes here in hopes of finding some music that fits thier tastes and all we get is a bunch of **** talking? So someone wants some rock music without having any satanic themes. Why can you not just provide an answer rather than acting like you are gods gift to music?

There was a thread looking for christian metal that you might want to look at.

I'm not sure if it is want you are looking for, but it still might help.
I think that alot of times you can find whatever you want in song lyrics.
It also depends on what kind of rock you are looking for. Classic, metal, classic metal....etc...

well the fact is that bands like led zep and sabbath are heavily rooted in blues and blues is considered to be the devils music basically because a lot of the themes are sex, indulgence, and rebellion so basically your gunna have to look past most hard rock and rock in general, also jazz too because jazz uses the tritone (diminshed 5th) a lot and that's considered to be the devils note and was banned in medieval society

hope that helps

Robert Johnson sold his soul to Satan, don't forget about that.

But then while looking into the history of Led Zep while bored, i learned of their ties to satanic figures, and the alleged satanic references in "Stairway to Heaven" (as well as the claims about it being played backward). from then on i had a hard time finding bands who didn't have some sort of satanic reference or ties, like Black Sabbath or Iron Maiden. I mean the songs Pandora played didn't seem to solicit any satanic beliefs, and i admit, before i looked to see who the song was by i was thinking to myself that i kinda liked the song, but i just can't reconcile listening to bands that are about that.

I'm sure someone else here has faced a similar dilemma. I like Led Zep's sound, but i could do without the satanic undertones. any resources that could help me figure out which bands to steer clear of?
If you are Christian you are still allowed to listen to satanic music, though Paul does not reccommend it. I listen to a lot of black metal and I am still a Christian. And I am not a Sunday-Christian either.
