a good group to try is "Within Temptation"
their song Angels was written about some one trying to kill her and her stoping him from doing so(if you watch the MVideo) Stand My Ground is a good song too along with:see who i am, Jillian (i give my all), forsaken, Aquarius, world of make believe, mother earth, dark wings, the fear, and destroyed

I can't stand most Christian rock, like Trinity and stuff like that. I have a hard time believing that even Jesus likes it.

He walked on water, turned water into wine, healed the sick, raised the dead, died for the salvation of all mankind, resurected from the dead. I can't accept that besides all of this, our savior has lousy taste in music. Let alone be such a jerk that he would force us to listen to the same crap music that he does.

There are some good Christian bands out there though, my brother played drums for his church's Christian Rock band.

Um, Where are your facts on this one?

The only time we see Hitler with any amount of sentimentality, he's got his are around a bust of Nietzsche who thought that Christianity was a way to breed a slave mentality of subservient sheep.

Not only that but Hitler created a Nazi church in which his image replaced Jesus and Mary.

What about this thread says that i don't know much about the world around me?

and who's to say you know so much? your post doesn't even make sense. what do i need to "try logic" for? perhaps you need to examine your own logic. if i think that "rock music is satanic", to quote you, then why would i be listening to any rock in the first place if it disagrees with me? perhaps you should try actually reading the post rather than just reading the subject and posting. maybe try reading a bit? It helps.
You made this thread!!! wtf man!?! "music glorifying satan goes against my beliefs". You insinuated that all rock is devil music. Plus you're whining about symbols in zepplin songs that may be sataning. Stop being such a whiner. It's music!!! Listen to it because you like it. Who says you have to agree with it? I think christianity is one of the dumbest things ever but goddamn if the snake the cross the crown or mewithoutyou aren't 2 of the most amaizng bands I have ever come across. They loovvveee them some jesus but am I gonna say zommggg i kant listen 2 dewm cos dey talk about sumthin i dun habeeb!11 It's music. Stop taking it so serious unless yr actually playing it.

you're still misunderstanding my point. "music glorifying satan goes against my beleifs" means that if a band is outright satanic, then i have some problems listening to them. i specified some bands that i'm concerned about. never did i say ALL rock music, and yet you still can't seem to understand this.

perhaps i didn't make one part clear, which is to find out if what i read about these bands and satanism is true. because i know these things can often be fabricated and blown out of proportion.

if you've talked to enough people in life, you'd know that "my beliefs" doesn't always imply a religion. i'm not comfortable with satanism and some of the dark practices that go along with it. that's all. i didn't bring my own religion into this, but everyone just went out on a limb and assumed i'm christian.

and what am i "whining" about here? i didn't just say "oh woe is me! there are satanic bands and i can't listen to them!". what i was saying was "i think some of these bands are satanic. i don't particularly agree with that (note this is devoid of a religion, or an accusation of all rock being satanic. just to make it easier for you to break down). is what i've read correct? are there other bands that are more neutral that have a similar sound?" yet somehow you've managed to get all pissed off and blow this out of proportion.

Usually people "uncomfortable" with "satanic" music are christian. Are you or not? THat's not the point though. The point is why are you so worried about a few "satanic"...if you could even call them that....references in music? It's just music.

because i am, and it's as simple as that.

people often have phobias or dislikes that others don't understand. for example, i knew a girl who was deathly afraid of syrup. she had this idea that if there was syrup near her, it would somehow get in her hair, and this terrified her. now to you and me, this sounds silly. how in the world, could syrup get in your hair if you're being careful? but to her it was a very real and rational concern. was she mentally handicapped, or just not very bright? not at all, she's one of the most intelligent people i've ever met.

same goes for this thread. my aversion to occult and satanic references in music may seem naive or irrational to you, but to me it's a concern, and because you can't understand it or think it's trivial doesn't make me oblivious to the world around me.

How many times do I have to tell you this. We ARE ALLOWED to listen to any kind of music we want to as long as we don't glorify its sinful beliefs. I have this debate with many Christians today and I even go as far to say that even if you don't make a Christian band when you are a Christian, you can still glorify God by giving him credit and things like that. After all Christians are supposed to be "little Christs" in that we follow his ways and try to show others what he is about. We do not have to do this through music and we can simply glorify him at concerts and/or interviews and stuff like that.

I don't think Jesus even cares about music because God was on his mind 24/7 when he was on Earth waiting to be crucified. I f he did I don't think he would like the music anyways seeing that I still haven't found a talented Christian rock band. Skillet is the only band that is starting to step up, though I still won't consider them good. I listen to absolutely no Christian rock. I think if Christian bands really want to get people to appreciate them, then they should create their own genre and stop ripping people off. Also, any TRUE music listener would not care whether they were talking about Christ or not and instead they would care about the content of the music.

Whatever. All I know is that there was some controversy about that. Either way, if you blaspheme God and say you are a Christian then you are a liar.

This is a very illogical idea. Blaspheming and believing Christ is your savior aren't connected in any way and thus aren't mutually exclusive. I can say "I hate TMNT" and still be a fan and collect the comic books while hating what is currently happening in the series. Just as one can be a fan of God's previous works but disapprove of his current direction. One can hope that God gets back on track and thus follow him while having grounds to commit blasphemy.
