They are epic, though they literally use the same 'beat' in every song, at least on Demigod.

Not really. Besides, in the broad scope of music, metal and hardcore fall under the same "fast/harsh/aggressive" music category, and as of late have begun to blend together, borrowing from and fusing with each other.
