I'm a big fan of his stuff with SYL and I also loved the Ocean Machine record. That stuff was amazing. I have Infinity which is awesome. Physicist was cool but it sounds like a mellower SYL. The Ziltoid record is a trip. The guy is a musical genius.

And I quite like Devin Townsend... it's nice to hear some prog metal with an original sound. In fact, I'm listening to Terria atm.

Default Devin Townsend

Townsend's one of my favorite artists. He's just so inventive and like nothing else out there.
I'm excited and getting insanely anxious for the new DT Project albums next May.
Anyone else a fan?

MASSIVE fan... there isn't a single dud album the man has made! When Ki and Addicted came out, I lived, drank, ate, slept and breathed those albums for months, and they're still on the very top of my music listening tree this very day...

Not to mention that is how I've felt about every single album the guy has made... months of obsessive listening and I don't think I've ever been able to be bored with any single track...

That being said, I am literally dying of anticipation for next may... the last two DTP albums are THE two most exciting new releases on my musical radar for next year and, aside from Radiohead and anything new by The Church the biggest two albums on my radar, period.

Same, I bought Ki and Addicted about a month after they were released and are still enjoying the both of them as exactly as much as when I got them.

I wish I'd discovered him earlier than I did, but since I found him in 2004 I've heard (and often obsessed over) every track he's released.

Also, He's supposed to be releasing Ziltoid 2 around the same time as Deconstruction and Ghost (DTP albums #3 and 4). He must be a very busy man right now.

Terria (2001) has been and probably will always be my favourite Devin Townsend album. Something about it just resonated really well with me back in 2003. It's incredibly organic, features Devin's best writing, and has a certain spiritual feeling to it, which is cool with Devin.

As far as Strapping Young Lad is concerned I will always enjoy City (1997) the most. That album seriously got me through high school and was my first real experience with '90's metal beyond Pantera. Heavy, chaotic, brilliantly mastered, and with a heavy dose of nostalgia put on top, it will take an act of God to make me change my mind.
