And the best drummer in the world right now, and arguably of all time is...
...Brann Dailor, Mastodon.
He beats Danny Carey, Dave Lombardo or anyone else you might care to mention by a walk. No-one really touches him. DISCUSS!!! |

Lol. The amount of drumers in the world, I doubt it. He could be the best commercial drummer, but I highly doubt it.
You gotta take drumming in all aspects, if I went up to this guy and asked him to play a swing at 180 clicks, he'd have no chance. Yet if we went to any random jazz drummer and asked him to do it he'd do it with ease as well with a normal rock beat. There's many types of drumming which I'm betting he couldn't do, so this arguement is entirely subjective. |

^LOL
No, Mastodon has an awful vocalist, he can't sing. His "scream" if you can call it that is terribly generic and sounds like tons of other metal vocalists i've heard and the lyrics? "The hero of the gods the crossing of the threshold the Belly of the wale refusal of Return" I think the awfulness of that speaks for itself. Theres nothing special about this band, I don't think their drummer is nearly as good as other drummers in this same genre. I mean this dude can't even touch Joey Jordison and according to metalheads he sucks right? |
