Okay. Just to clarify, I am doing this based on them being the greatest bands. For me that is a combination of influence and songwriting ability. Doesn't mean it lines up with my favorites.

60's:
The Beatles
The Jimi Hendrix Experience
The Who (Putting them here because I feel their music was more revolutionary during the 60s than during the 70s.)
The Doors
The Rolling Stones

70s
Led Zeppelin
Black Sabbath
Pink Floyd (but I like Yes better)
The Ramones
Deep Purple

80s
Iron Maiden
Rush
Van Halen
U2
Chicago

90s
Nirvana (generic, but it has to be there)
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Smashing Pumpkins
Dream Theater
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones

2000s
Foo Fighters
Blink-182 (could have also gone in the 90s)
Green Day
Muse
Tool

Your list mainly consists of the most overrated bands of each decade. I agree with a few like zep, but mainly, just no.

Wasn't "We Will Rock You" around that particular era?

Wrong, I don't see too many people mention Rainbow. Kudos to adamosmaki for giving them a mention.
