Okay. Just to clarify, I am doing this based on them being the greatest bands. For me that is a combination of influence and songwriting ability. Doesn't mean it lines up with my favorites.
60's: The Beatles The Jimi Hendrix Experience The Who (Putting them here because I feel their music was more revolutionary during the 60s than during the 70s.) The Doors The Rolling Stones 70s Led Zeppelin Black Sabbath Pink Floyd (but I like Yes better) The Ramones Deep Purple 80s Iron Maiden Rush Van Halen U2 Chicago 90s Nirvana (generic, but it has to be there) Red Hot Chili Peppers Smashing Pumpkins Dream Theater The Mighty Mighty Bosstones 2000s Foo Fighters Blink-182 (could have also gone in the 90s) Green Day Muse Tool |

I dont care about time Just 4 bands plus one person metallica , Dream theater , Tool , System of a down and David bowie I like Dream theater better than others because they are simply great their music complexibiliy is so interesting for me and i like the others equal
