Gluey Porch Treatments is probably my favorite. I like Ozma and Bullhead too.

I've never listened to a Melvins record, I think I listened to half of 'Stag' once.

I couldn't find the actual Melvins thread, if there is one, but anyway... I made a stencil, which I will be stenciling onto a plain white shirt tomorrow. I'll put the native american on the front in the lower corner, and the band name on the back in the top middle

I only have Stag and Houdine and they're both excellent.

Well, except for Spread-Eagle Beagle, anyway.

Those two are great albums, but you also need to listen to "Prick" "Stoner Witch" and "The Maggot" and the EP "Lysol" This is the essential Melvins discography.

I listened to a little Melvins because Kurt Cobain always talked about them, but the album I listened to I wasn't too impressed by (can't remember the name, sorry). Which of their albums/songs would you say sounds similar to Nirvana?

The Melvins are a sludge metal band with a very experimental side to them. They don`t actually sound like Nirvana, their sludge metal sound was just an influence on Nirvana and grunge in general. I wouldn`t expect somebody that likes grunge to necessarily like the Melvins. The Melvins are for metal and experimental music fans.

Nirvana are extremely accessible whereas the Melvins are not, that is the main difference between the two. Best Melvins album to start with is Houdini, one of their more accessible albums.
