Start with Houdini so you get the sound they bring to the table first than you might like Bullhead and from there you should have a good base to go and see all they've done.

My sig is from "A History of Drunks" off A Senile Animal, which is probably one of their more traditional albums. But it rocks hard and has two drumsets, so it's all good.

Default Melvins Lyrics

Melvins are one of my all-time favorite bands. I've been into them since '92 and to this day, most of their lyrics still don't make sense. In Houdini, for example, it seems like they were just making up words, which made them sound satanic. I wonder what other hardcore Melvintes think about this...

The Melvins are one of my favorites. As far as their use of 'non-words' go, I think it's rather effective. I doubt I'd want to hear it on every song though. I don't care much for things like 'Spread Eagle Beagle', though.

Question: if someone likes the Melvins, what else might they like? Any recommended bands?

Need more Melvins talk around here. Anyone checked out the new album? First time playing it right now. First song's fuckin weird (not that I should expect un-weird from them), gets down and dirty after that, sounds pretty darn solid.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

I think the new album is pretty good personally. I don't know if the Melvins will ever quit making good albums.
