Gojira
Any Gojira fans other than myself?
If not check these guys out. They're French but the lyrics are in english and these dudes know how to pound out some sick experimental metal. Terra Inconita and From Mars To Sirius are two albums definitely worth checking out. You sample all their entire albums at their site: II GOJIRA II |
Fantastic band, one of the most rhythmically perfect groups I've ever heard.
From Mars to Sirius is probably my favorite album to smoke to. |
Christ. I love it! I just sampled Ocean Planet and damn it's great!. I'll be downloading an album ASAP.
There aren't many bands that are really a challenge for me to listen to, but these guys I have a hard time with. Its like Meshuggah on crack.
Meshuggah on crack can only lead to good things...
Ive got the song 'Space Time' on my ipod, tis fantastic, wana get some more of their stuff, seems very tight. |
just dled Mars to Sirius, most excellent i must say
They gave me the same kind of feeling that Meshuggah gave me when i first started listening to them and now they are one of my favorite bands. Ill have to listen to them some more.
I guess I'll give these guys a listen.
Very solid sounding band.

good band. from mars seems really interesting, good sound
Absolutely loving FROM MARS TO SIRIUS.
Grew up on metal way back when, but very few bands really grab me these days-GOJIRA do. Awesome stuff. |
Their riffs annoy me alot. I cant explain it but they put me off. They do however makes some complex stuff which is far from boring.
Gojira is the sex
hehehe but i doubt they can be compared to meshuggah (messhuggah are more technical-industrial) while gojira are thrash ish |
Good stuff. I kinda like the album before Mars (the red one with a tree) but both are enjoyable. I do find a lot of the songs so sound similar though.
They sound like Morbid Angel and Strapping Young Lad at times. |
Gojira's great...I agree some of their songs sound the same sometimes but they really bring out a heavy sound with some of their riffs, beats, etc.
Finally got around to listening to an album by this guys. Good stuff.
The riffs on FMtS are ridiculous. "Backbone," "From the Sky," "The Heaviest Matter in the Universe," pretty much all the songs on the album have some memorable riffs.
Awesome album. It was my introduction to Gojira, and though I have yet to listen to their other stuff seriously, I thought it was incredible. I don't know death metal well enough to give a great review or anything, but it was definitely some of the best death metal I've heard, period.
I think it is even better than their last two (yes, that includes From Mars to Sirius).
I am total speechless over your job, indeed great post. I have not heard the tracks of the album because one of my friend told me that it is not good enough to listen. But the track are looking awesome. thanks.:dj:

L'enfant Sauvage is a major album.
The first thing I think of when I think of France is Gojira

I like Gojira quite a bit. I've only bought The Way of All Flesh so far, but I still want to pick up From Mars to Sirius sometime soon. I haven't checked out their other material yet.
I like their sound on the last album
I don't know why I've been so slow to adopt these guys. I got L'enfant Sauvage quite a while ago and love it but somehow always forget to listen to it. Now I'm listening to From Mars to Sirius and loving that. Any suggestions on what I should check out next?

Also, a quick search of them lead me to a band called Empalot, another band the Duplantier brothers formed. If I remember correctly, you're into Mr. Bungle and this track by Empalot (the first song I've heard by them) is reminiscent of them. Kind of amusing. |
Extremely solid band.
I remember being blown away by the musicianship on their albums. Just really impresses. |
Going to see them with Mastadon in a month! Waaaaaaah, excited.
HUGE Gojira fan and love their stance on protecting nature. #treehugger
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqrM...2U-fHQ&index=2 I liked it quite a bit. Wasn't what I was expecting, given what I've heard from them in the past, but I like the new direction. |
