Pomp has links with prog, but as it's title suggest's. Pomp=Pomposity. The emphasis was more on album art, lyrics and costumes, rather than musical virtiousity. It was mainly a British thing, but is an accepted movement.

This makes me think that symphonic rap would be a very interesting genre.
