My opinion won't change anyone's mind.
But if it did: "Layla" - Eric Clapton "Tears In Heaven" - Eric Clapton |
i dunno, something like:-
Bob Dylan - I Want You Paul McCartney - Let Me Roll It To You Nick Drake - Black-Eyed Dog Tim Buckley - Gypsy Woman Johnny Cash - Folsom Prison Blues |
Robert Plant - Little by Little
Don Henley - Sunset Grill Ozzy Osbourne - No More Tears John Mellencamp - Last Chance Eric Clapton - She's Waiting (yeah, not exactly happy songs) |

I just love a lot of Robert Plants solo material, well..maybe a few songs 'here and there' from a couple of his solo albums, anyway. Don Henley is running very close, as my 2nd personal favorite. With Ozzy at #1..and "Sting" still holding 3rd.. for the meantime. John Cougar over Bruce Springsteen always. Prince has already been recognized/#1 enough, and shown recognition, or at least, consideration as being a multi-talented artist through the years. (we've had enough of Prince already). "At this point and time", I'm going to change my #1 favorite solo artist, as being Robert Johnson (Very Underrated). |
Can't say these are like the end all be all greatest, just some on my mind right now:
Susumu Hirasawa - Lotus Britta Person - You Are Not My Boyfriend Andrew W.K. - Don't Stop Living in the Red Jonsi - Around Us Connor Oberst - Cape Canaveral |
Thanks.
I considered Sting for the list and probably would rate him above Clapton (kind of blah without a great backing band), but I figured he doesn't get played on hard rock radio (or didn't, when that was a popular genre). |
