Default Godsmack

I figured I'd start a thread on a metal band people actually know. I loved the first 2 albums, haven't heard the last 2. Sully has a monstrously rockin' voice. I find them interesting bcuz although they're numetal, they hav an interesting sound. Really heavy guitar licks that don't sound too overly commercially watered down. I.E. I just like to hear a band that sounds really freaking heavy without trying to force it, and Sully is one of the best singers, his voice can be kind of whiny at times, but makes up for it w/ probably one of the strongest voices in rock.

I hate to be a jackass, but this band sucks. Their riffs are generic and boring at best, and the singer's voice gets annoying after about 30 seconds of a song. I don't know exactly what you mean by them sounding heavy without trying to force it, but if you ask me it sounds exactly the oposite. Give an example of a band that sounds like they're "forcing it"..

Their quality of their acoustic album "The Other Side" really surprised me. And "I Stand Alone" is one of my favorite tunes ever. "Bad Religion" and "Awake" are great too.

how about any death metal band, or just any new metal band period. they're not trying anything new. Godsmack sound a little bit like a heavier version of Alice in Chains, other than that they don't sound much like anyone else.
