Or the fact that there atleast a hundred melodic hardcore bands. I'd say the abundance of sound is genre deserving.

So the fact that they sound different from other hardcore and other melodic bands doesn't warrant the fact that they have their own, clearly defined niche?

riseagainst, let me say that I've only heard one song by that band, and it was terrible
avg. godsmack song>the riseagainst song I heard

No, it can mean two things. They are either 1) The greatest, most innovative, ground-breaking band since The Ramones, or 2) They are sh*tty post-punk nonsense who are more worried about being defined in the wrong genre than making an actual contribution to this world.

and yes, the Ramones were groundbreaking. For what they did at the time, it was amazing.
