I can actually tolerate them. I don't like them, but I certainly don't hate them. Rather boring all around though.

Reminds me of Seether or Sevendust or bands along those lines. I used to like them, back when I liked Seether, which was back when I liked Manson, which was probably back when I liked Linkin Park, a good couple of years ago now.

Same problem for me as The Unfan, find them pretty boring, and not very diverse with their sound.

Why did it become so cool in like, 2002, or 2003 to start hating bands like Godsmack, Limp Bizkit, Korn & Linkin Park. Personally, none of them are in my favorite bands cat. but they're all okay. Maybe Godsmack sounds a little like Korn and a few others, but they came out in 1999 before most the other numetal, and really only sounded like Tool or Korn. Regardless of what anyone says, I think Korn's first 3 albums were awesome, Limp Bizkit's & Linkin Parks first albums were pretty good. Maybe there's better stuff, but it's a breath of fresh air when they play these bands over Nickelback and Fall Out Boy.

Too bad Godsmack is just as overplayed as Nickelback and Fall Out Boy. Limp Bizkit has always been a horrible band, and Linkin Park has been boring since Hybrid Theory. Tool doesn't even fit in that genre. They're more progressive rock than anything, and have far more collectice musical talent than any numetal band.

It's not that it became cool to hate them...better music just started coming out, and people realized how ridiculously boring and repetitive those bands were.

Godsmack is one of the suckiest bands in this genre.
Their last album was overplayed, overrated and every member should've been shot. Their new single Shinedown makes my ears bleed.

I don't understand why people like them. It's like Creed only the instrumentals are louder

Wow! This has been some interesting reading... I dig em. But I have a very broad taste in music. I can listen to Sepultura one minute and want some Frank Sinatra next.

Considering that their heros are Alice In Chains and they took their name from the song Godsmack, I think they have continued on with the sound. IMO They are not for everyone. I like their album Awake more than the others. Vampires is a really rippin song. IMO
