even in the definition of "emo" it says it is derived from hardcore all emo is rom hardcore. If you listen to bands some of the modern stuff it's not pop no one where I live listens to it and it doesn't have the sound to it.

Just because it comes from hardcore doesn't make it emo. It can be post-hardcore[or noise rock or grindcore]. The production is extremely poppy. You even unknowingly said it when you said FLNF was of bad quality.

Bad quality as in the drums were over the vocals I couldn't hear what he was saying and the guitars were just crap that's what I meant. But I never said just because it's hardcore makes something emo it's all about the lyrics is what makes a band emo mixed with some heavy background instramentals.

Lyrics do not make not make a band emo in fact Neil On Impression is an instrumental post-emo band. And it's just a lo-fi recording style and I like it. I hate when vocals are high in the mix.

Post-hardcore with poppy recording style. Got it? Good.

Not all hardcore is produced poppy. And if you can't hear or understand what the singer is saying how could you possibly relate or like the music?

Maybe this is poppy where u r from, but around here they hardly ever play this stuff. It's all fallout boy and panic at the disco and MCR. I like MCR, though

I don't like really listen vocals or care about lyrics. I relate to the music by listening to the instrumental. I never said all hardcore is recorded in a poppy style. Most aren't but the bands you're talking are a step from hardcore which makes the post hardcore and if you turn on the radio and listen what they make come through in the mix you'll find endless similarities.

At Tool:Pop is a recording style. Indie is a recording style. The bands you're talking about have a pop recording style. That makes them poppy.

How can you relate to the instrumentals and not vocals/lyrics? None of the bands I listen to are ever played on ther radio and will never be played. And every band even the unsigned bands are producing there stuff to you"poppy" so that argument is invalid.

It's not that I can't relate to vocals it's that I don't care about them. I like a nice juicy layering instrumental. The style of mix of the bands you mentioned is pretty similar to bands on the radio. Vocals high in the mix is one of the qualities, over correction of mistakes and other things as well.

The South won the Civil War. Slavery just evolved Catie; get with the program.

We don't embrace those poor excuses for music because they are in NO WAY RELATED to the emo/screamo genre.
