Rock N Roll/Metal....?!?!?

It's not a genre....it's a lifestyle.......

What do you think?

swim 02-01-2007 09:33 AM

No.

gtf0 my interweb.

QueenNothing 02-01-2007 10:01 AM

Man, you just need to get off this forum right now. You have no idea what the rock n' roll lifestyle is all about...

Sneer 02-01-2007 10:09 AM

if i didnt have a ****ty centurion gig tonight i'd happily sit here watching you two squabble. And queen, this thread, what?

QueenNothing 02-01-2007 10:11 AM

Haha, well i wanted to see what people thought about the whole lifestyle of the rock and metal.....not just the music part...and im thinking this guy just really likes to argue!

Mr Sensitive 02-01-2007 10:14 AM

I drink undiluted Ribena from an ashtray that used to belong to Boy George, I think we can all agree that I am a true rocker.

QueenNothing 02-01-2007 10:15 AM

Hah, yes man. I will have to agree with you on that one!

swim 02-01-2007 10:17 AM

It's just another ploy to reach in your pocket and make one think they're special and different and they're really not. I'm all for good music and everything but I don't think there's some common thread or anything like that.

Kurt_Cobain 02-01-2007 01:34 PM

Why do people think you have to be what you listen to? Music should become a part of you, not define the whole of you. To be honest if you think any style of music should be a lifestyle you're a bit of a 2D person.

The Unfan 02-01-2007 01:50 PM

I'm an independent person. There is no lifestyle attached to the music I listen to. I listen to the music I do because I enjoy it, not because I want to shoot up and **** like that.

Merkaba 02-01-2007 02:00 PM

I have yet to see or hear of anyone that has a life where music has filtered through into all facets of one's life.

Music can be your life but it is not a lifestyle.

Mr.Jack 02-01-2007 03:13 PM

Rock and roll is not a genre or a life style Its a Religion

QFT - very true.

Like the other person said, music shouldn't define you. If it does, that means you're probably close minded to other styles of music.

QueenNothing 02-02-2007 08:10 AM

NO, no...i dont mean it like that...I mean...well if you havent noticed...the majority of people that listen to any type of rock genre...well they lookthe part...its just a part of who we are...not byany means did I mean that all rockers are cracked out and alchoholics!

QueenNothing 02-02-2007 09:33 AM

Well, I'm not sayin that like its a bad thing. I just think like i said earlier- If you havent noticed...people that listen to any type of rock genre, well, you can usually tell...music defines us. I think that we should all respect each others style of music whether it's Panic at the Disco, Sepultra, Megadeath, Korn, or whatever...when it comes down to it-We all just love music!

I will not respect people with bad taste. The end.

Also, how does one look like a metalhead, a punk rocker, a hippie, a stoner, a ...whatever you call a rap fan, and a rivethead all at once? I can't possibly look like my taste in music because its that diverse.

QueenNothing 02-06-2007 09:03 AM

I said a lot of people. No all. But many people look the part. Rappers, for example, where baggy jeans, "bling", and "grillz." Rockers on the other hand where black clothes, have tattoos, etc etc. COuntry artists usually where southern wear. For expamle boots or cowboy hats. It's just who you are...

A_Perfect_Sonnet 02-06-2007 09:25 AM

Let me get this straight. You come into a musical discussion forum to perpetuate stereotypes? Do you live in the real world? You should probably gain a perspective that doesn't involve watching 50 Cent, Motley Crue, and Garth Brooks music videos, and believe that's what all artists in their respective genres are about. It's pretty obvious to me you are some upper-middle class kid who knows little more about music than what he has seen on MTV. You also need to learn how to spell.

QueenNothing 02-06-2007 10:11 AM

Haha, I'm not going to argue with you about this. Man, I love how people love to criticize other peoples likings/beliefs. You need to get off your high horse, and realiza that the world doesnt revolve around you. Your opinions aren't the only ones that matter, "A Perfect Sonnet"

Coming from the kid who lives in a world filled with stereotypes and MTV.

Well I quite like Hawkwind too so I guess I should paint my breasts & dance around like a twat naked.

Moon Pix 02-06-2007 10:54 AM

René Descartes had this s*** nailed years ago and he wasnt even born.

"I think therefore I am."

In this case its more like "Im punk therefore I am."

I was criticising your completely unfounded "beliefs" that center themselves around media-biased cliches. I'm not on a high horse, I'm giving you a reality check.

QueenNothing 02-08-2007 08:27 AM

Caulky, much?

A_Perfect_Sonnet 02-08-2007 11:29 AM

I sealed my bathtub with my attitude.

QueenNothing 02-12-2007 09:10 AM

i can see that

acratertocoffin 02-15-2007 05:13 AM

...it's ****y Queen. For the love of God.

Rainard Jalen 02-15-2007 05:29 AM

Yeah, there might be a lifestyle ASSOCIATED with heavy metal/rock'n'roll music. That hardly means that one needs to adopt that particular lifestyle in order to truly be a fan of the music itself.
