Default Grave Digger

I am a recent fan of Grave Digger, I admit. Although I knew about them earlier, some nerd told me they sucked and that they were 'generic' Heavy Metal...and I was ass enough to believe it.

However, I have been listening to them for a month now. Does anyone like them? For those who don't know, Grave Digger is a German Power Metal band, in existence since 1980. Chris Boltendahl, their vocalist, has a unique voice...rasping, almost growling and at the same time, clean (he did some killer ballads). Overall, the band is really unusual, although they belong to the genre of Power Metal. And really evil sounding too, there is an epic 'feel' to their music and the choruses they incorporate in their songs.

Not to mention they are a lot heavier than other Power Metal bands. Probably put the 'Heavy' in Heavy Metal.

My favorite albums:

Tunes of War.
Excalibur.
The Last Supper.
The Grave Digger.
Knights of the Cross.
Rheingold.

Actually, almost all their stuff (barring their oldest releases) kick ass. And their newest album 'Liberty or Death' is pretty good, although nothing exceptional.

While they're a great band, I find that you only really need to own one album as they're all fairly simular.
