Ulver. What's s so awesome about them is the variance between albums

The Madrigal Of Night = Black Metal. And it was recorded in the ****ing woods. Amazing

Kevldssanger = acoustic folk tunes with a choir

Themes From William Blake's The Marriage of Heaven And Hell = electronic black tinged trip-hop classical. ya rly

Perdition City = weird electronica/trip-hop

Bergtatt = folky black metal.

God this band rules. I can upload anything but Themes. Discuss!
Didn't realize the woods had electrical outlets...

You also didn't realize that there's these amazing things called generators which can run off gasoline and provide electricity

Again,

^^^ no.

It was recorded in a proper, hi-fi studio. They just purposefully made it sound like crap.
The "IT WAS RECORDED IN TEH WOODS!!!!ONEONEONE" meme is about as accurate as the numerous rumors surrounding the early Norwegian shenanigans. In other words, completely inaccurate.

I had never heard of them before this thread, so I decided to look them up on youtube. Currently listening to The Future Sound of Music and being blown away. Thank you musicbanter.

And now I just heard "Of Wolf and Fear"... Can't believe it's the same band (not in a bad way, it just sounds so different.)

Ulver always manages to make subtle, or even drastic, changes from album to album that makes them unique. I learned about Ulver through Garm's vox work in Arcturus, what really made me interested in Ulver was when he left, and Vortex (disappointingly) took over.
