YouTube - Deconstruction - LA Song

That's Deconstruction. You can go through the demos as well on the related vids section. They're top notch despite the poor quality recording.

i really dug that song but avery just doesn't cut it as a front man. he's one of my favourite bass players and i was surprised by his voice but he's got 0 charisma going on in that video hehehe.

I think they're great. Ritual de lo Habitual is one of my favorite 90s albums for sure.

I also think Navarro is a bit underrated as a guitarist.

Sorry Dave I can beat ya there, i first saw JA live in 1991 :p , and they were amazing.

So much inexperience and misguided dislike for them in this thread!

Janes are one of the classic alternative rock bands or the late 80's/ early 90's that really paved the way for so much great music after them. I can imagine kids dissing them based on the album they relased a few years ago as it didn't live up to the hype surrounding the band, but seriously "Nothing Shocking" and to a lesser extent "Ritual....." are a couple of truely landmark albums. There is hardly a bad moment on either of these albums I would give them both 5 stars.

And as for someones call RE: Dave made a better album with RHCP.....LOL that is funny

Agreed. My sister turned me on to Nothing's Shocking when it first came out. I have both albums on vinyl as well as cd.

yeah, but i seem to recall the list of bands you saw in the late 80s / early 90s as being pretty freaking impressive hehehe. i was a very sheltered teen out on the far end of nowhere on the wrong coast of canada back in those days hehe.

as for the misguided dislike, i didn't actually read through this thread until just now. WOW :banghead:

really though. :banghead:

as far as navarro and the chili peppers go. it was one of those situations that looked really good on paper but failed in practice. 'one hot minute' isn't a horrible album, but it's not really that good either.

I used to at one point hate Jane's Addiction. Somehow a car ride to Sacramento got me into them. I guess I can kind of see what some of the haters thought about them.

Anyways, as for Jane's live experiences, I saw Perry Farrell's Satellite Party  live. They were fun, but I imagine it doesn't touch Jane's/P4P in the heyday.

Jane's Addiction rocks.
I have all their albums except for Strays....But i'm not sure I want it because people tell me it was terriable compared tot heir previous releases.

cabangbangq 06-17-2008 02:06 PM

If you're into buying individual songs, I'd reccomend Strays, Price I Pay, and The Riches.

But the production is ****ty. Bob Ezrin pushed the band to a more radio friendly sound and the production sounds more like pop rock than old school Jane's.

Piss Me Off 06-17-2008 02:14 PM

The Riches is a great song, i remember i got it from a compilation a few years ago. Brilliant riff.
