Favorite Style of Metal (genre, Atmosphere, Judas Priest, goth, classic)

^^^ Those are basically death metal scenes based off of the countries. Not real genres.

While I agree wiki is not reliable, i have to ask, what source IS reliable on this type of musical information? Is it like there is the official music site where analysts do research on this or something? When it comes down to it, isn't every genre made, made up by some person and everyone excepted it? It could be the same here as well except not everyone agrees with it yet.

Out of that list, Power Metal - but in reality my favorite Metal genre is Gothic Metal. That wasn't listed though so ...

I love all forms of Metal.

I'm a big Thrash fan, Doom, Classic/NWoBHM, you name it. If it's Metal, I like it. Pretty much.

I listens Heavy Metal, Power Metal, Post Metal and Folk metal. However, I like Progressive Metal very much. This is my favorite music.

yeah how is heavy metal a sub-genre of heavy metal? but you got the /NWOBHM so whatever.
but you gotta have some glam/hair metal. even if it is really lite.
so i choose death metal since you didnt have glam metal...

Its not, its a sub-genre of metal. Ironically NWOBHM isn't a genre as much as a term to describe certain bands from an era who pretty much either played heavy metal or traditional doom in retrospect. What defines "Heavy metal" and "traditional doom" didn't really come about until later but there are obvious differences between bands like Witchfinder General, Pentagram, and Black Sabbath who played heavier slower pieces and Iron Maiden and Judas Priest who played more technical in your face music. The styles the two different breeds of metal would later influence would determine what was what.
