I wasn't saying they were insignificant. I was just taking a crack at your taste in music. Although I will say hip hop was never too appealing to me. Blame MTV for scarring my mind and traumatizing it with images of black men with expensive braces dancing with abunch of girls with ghetto booty.

Metal was never appealing for me, because too many metal fans/bands are nerdy, long-haired, World of Warcraft playing chodes who are fat and never wash themselves.
No wait, not really, because I'm not stupid enough to base what I listen to on stupid generalizations, and what the ****ty mainstream media portrays. In any event, given a choice, I'd pick mainstream rap over mainstream metal ANY time. |

Death/Thrash/Speed/Nu/Black/CROSSOVER-off shoots-ROCK-Math/Heavy/Blues/Post. That's a quick sypnosis-**** genres-HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT. Listen to a band like them/dislike them-end of. If you hide a band behind a particular genre, you are denying yourself so much good music. Trying to look cool in front of your mates? Not worth it. Gain more respect by being original. Trust me..it work's in the long run.

The problem is arrogant people who think you must like this and not like this to have good taste in music. It's their taste, not yours.

NWOBHM- because I was around at the time, but my judgement is clouded by nostalgia. The most exciting period was thrash in the mid 80's though. The greatest shot in the arm that metal ever got and needed.

No Grindxcore?!
I like Post-Metal and a lot of the new stoner "70's black metal" like early man, teeth of the hydra, deadsea, el jesus de magico, 1970, mouth of the architect
