Death followed by black then thrash. I listen to and appreciate all the genres of metal though. Well maybe except metalcore and nu-metal.

Power Metal, Black Metal and a bit of Progressive Metal (Dream Theater, Opeth, Ayreon). The only thrash bands I like are Metallica and Megadeth. I also like a bit of Melodic Death Metal. And of course, everyone should be into Traditional and NWOBHM.

I might also add that within my favorite genre of Power Metal, I particularly like Epic Metal and Symphonic Power Metal.

None of the Nu-Metal crap. As Manowar would say, Death to False Metal!

I'm into math metal. Seriously though, why do people feel the need to catergorise rock music? Its all metal/rock, just listen and enjoy. Don't diss people cos they like doom as opposed to NYHC, listen and learn, go back to the 70's and listen to the Who/Sabbath/Priest etc and discover where modern metal came from. Even go back to blues and Chuck Berry to see where the Who etc came from.

That's cool, since metalcore and nu-metal aren't subgenres and are crossovers....... /anal

I like Death Metal the most, even though my collection of death metal is pretty small at the moment.

Followed by; black metal, thrash metal, heavy metal, metalcore, then nu-metal.

I tried to get into math metal before I left but didn't listen to enough.

You listen to nu metal thus everything you say is null and void.

I listen to nu-metal maybe, say, once a month. It's easy listening, like AC/DC.

Besides;

"Favorite Genre:
Indie, hip hop, hardcore"

you have no room to talk, mon ami.

Right. Because those aren't legitimate genres.
