Default Favorite hard-rock/metal covers!

Simply add any other covers, as in "songs that weren't originally wrote by the band mentioned", and describe why you like them either the same as the original or more/better than the original. Also comment on if you dislike any of the covers that either I or someone else puts on their list.

I'll put a list of some of my favorites here that I recall are covers.I'm almost 100% positive that all of these songs actually are covers, but if either I or someone else has put down a song that is an original instead of a cover discuss that as well.Have fun!

Do they cover the Judas Priest "Painkiller" or is it some other artists "Painkiller" you're talking about? Also, do they get Halford to sing on it or is it simply Death with no "guests"?

It's Death covering Judas Priest's Painkiller with Death's Chuck Schuldiner on vocals.

Oh god I love that cover - it's possibly my favourite ever and I like it more than the original. I just love Chuck's insane screams - and also the fact that Death added an extra guitar solo.

Judas Priest - Green Manalishi
Voivod - Astronomy Domine
Motorhead - Motorhead

Those are the only 3 songs I can think of that I think are better than the originals.

I just think they did it better thats all.

I think the Jesus & Mary Chain`s version of Vegetable Man is better than the Pink Floyd version too but they`re not a hard rock/metal band.
