Satyricon?
 

my drummer showed my this dvd and it had all these cool bands on it like lacuna coil dragonforce etc.
and there was also this really cool band called satyricon
has anyone herd them?
any fans??

I've listened to whatever stuff they have on their purevolume, and it was rather disgusting so I haven't listened to them since.

Has anybody got this record? If so, what can you say about it? I'm in two minds whether or not to bother.

So, any feedback from those who've heard it?

I'm not a fan of it to be honest. Satyricon stopped being good...after Nemisis Divina.

And to be honest I only really like bits and pieces off of Dark Medieval Times.

Im a new convert to Satyricon...I quite like them...Saw them live during the summer and they were brutal...Never seen a pit like it at half 11 in the morning...I think Now, Diabolical is a good record, probably not as good as their earlier stuff, but nevertheless a good record.

first three records are masterpieces, Rebel Ex. has some good material

ya at first i found Dark Medieval Times to be boring, but it grew on me

oh and in response to the original post, no dont get it, its bland hard rock with the occasional double kick on the drums

it's true that nemesis divina was their last GREAT album, but they have done some mint things since then.. this new one, i like it a lot, don't expect classic satyricon though, but if you can listen to it and imagine it being a brand new band, then it is good and worth checking out.

Satyricon was one of the first black metal bands I listened to and though "awesome." Just so atmospheric yet brutal at the same time. Favorite song has to be either "Mental Mercury" or "A Moment of Clarity."

Old Satyricon is unlistenably bad and generic. Volcano and anything after it have proven to be surprisingly good though.

They've put out some good records (Nemesis Divina's probably my favourite album), but there are far better bm bands out there.

Satyricon is awesome. I've seen them live several times and I think they're great.
I also think Now, Diabolical is a great album.
