Keeping Rock/Metal Fresh
This'll be a bit like the indie recommendations thread. Post rock/metal outfits that you have discovered and give us a link so we can check them out. Maybe a brief description of the music if you can.
Any sort of rock/metal is welcome. But please, no obvious bands like Metallica etc etc, we want it to be fairly obscure and eye opening. Try to keep this stuff FRESH! My mention right now is a heavy blues laden southern groove band. They're just pure heavy, from Melbourne, Australia. Give them a listen: Myspace - Peeping Tom Official - Peeping Tom

I found a decent sounding Grunge/Alternative band from Italy, while looking through MySpace music one day. I particularly enjoyed the songs Your Turn, and Angels With Guns. The link is http://myspace.com/invaininitaly, if anyone wants to listen.

Dead Meadow http://www.myspace.com/deadmeadow Grunge-ish band from DC. I say grunge for lack of a better word. If being high on opium were a sound, it would be this band.

Man I live off not well known metal bands lets see....
Into Eternity (although there climbing the ladder quickly for example there on Gigantour this year) http://www.intoeternity.net/ http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...endid=25567571 there from Regina, Canada and are a GREAT progressive metal outfit, not only are they great musicians but they are also very catchy at times with there guitar and vocal harmonys and catchy choruses on songs like Spiraling Into Depression. Biomechanical http://www.biomechanical.co.uk/index1.html http://www.myspace.com/biomechanical An outfit from London thats quite hard to decribe, they have alot of different influences like Judas Priest, Pantera (if you put those 2 together with an epic feel you have Biomechanical) there vocalist John K. is the Greek god of vocals hes very versatile and can pull off alot of different styles of vocals but hes most known for his Judas Priestish vocals which are INCREDIBLE to hear on album, along with the "make-your-cheap-computer-speakers-blow-up" guitar work or Chris Webb & Jamie Hunt that fits incredibly well with the music. and the spastic drumming of Matt C. thats quite brutal and never seems to stop (which is a very good thing). Wintersun http://www.wintermadness.net/ http://www.myspace.com/wintersunrocks If your looking for a band the likes of Children Of Bodom, Norther, Imperanon or Ensiferum (which the lead singer/guitartist used to be in) is deffinitly a band you will like. Hailing from Finland they play a style not only melodic but can also be very in your face at the same time. there most famous track "Beyond The Dark Sun" is an epic track very well thought out and is deffinitly a great into to the rest of the album, which not only is very Children Of Bodomish but is also very winter themed hence the name... Jari Maenpaa the lead singer and lead guitarist for the band has a wide aray of vocals which are all unique such as his screams to his epic sounds-like-your-in-a-midieval-drinking-song fit very well with the theme of the album, along with his incredible guitar work. And there drummer Kai Hahto who is hailed as one of the best drummers of Finland gives the album a very thrashy, death metal sound to them. theres alot more also but Im tired of all the typing....damn im bored I wish my new keyboard would come in soon, I might have to go postal on UPS

I'll give them a listen now... I've heard Mojo somewhere before, they're good.

Solid, solid band. Their latest album is pretty damn good apparently. They've taken a more melodic approach. Also, hxxp://www.megaupload.com/?d=5ZBJBWCD A song by a band called Dixie Witch. Dixie Witch - Set the Speed.
