and it has no elements of metal whatsoever.

crappy alt-rock riffs, pop structure and content, rock vocals...

ok they down-tune their guitars to make it sound a little heavy, but theres no trace of metal there.

I also forgot to mention that if there's anything worse, its probably Rap-Metal/Rap-Rock.

Rap is such a ****ty form of music. Mixing it with Metal or Rock is like desecrating a holy place.

I`d take De La Soul , Public Enemy, KRS-1 and many many more over every single band you mentioned in the 'Any unknown rock bands?' thread

And i`m not even much of a hip hop fan either.

^^Yeah, I am sure tried and tested bands like Symphony X and Stratovarius suck because you said so.

Dude, there's such a thing as individual taste. Its clear that you aren't into anything Power Metal (or Iron Maiden), so I suggest you dig up some good info. to back your opinions up before saying stuff.

Well, here's the thing: why is the screaming of Corey Taylor of Slipknot any LESS metal than the screaming of Tom Araya of Slayer?

I've heard very little Nu Metal music in which the vocals bore the slightest resemblance to that of hip-hop rappers. It doesn't strike me as a real fusion genre.

Guess I'll have to check them out, then. But OTHERWISE... by and large, in general I don't see much hip-hop influence in "Nu Metal" vocals.

Do you guys think that POD would fall under "nu-metal"? (Sonny tends to rap a little on some tracks)
