And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that. |

Wow, look it only took someone two years to reply to this thread!
I just got a copy of the album Telepathic With The Deceased yesterday and am listening to it right now. So far it seems pretty good. The production on the album sounds like I'm listening to it through the wall or something, but somehow that works for the music. The album seems noisier and more fuzzed-out than the typical black metal album too which I think is a huge improvement over the usual way black metal sounds. |

I like Leviathan more than Xasthur when it comes to Depressive stuff, though i should probably get into more Xasthur before i come to that conclusion. So far Drown into eternal twilight and bleak necrotic paleness are the only songs that i have by them, though i have heard others, and are my favorite songs out of what i have heard.
Any suggestions?

Depressive BM should not be listened to the same way regular BM is. Its like the band Summoning.

But I like Summoning. I also like other depressive black metal bands. Weakling and Silencer come to mind instantly. Xasthur, on the other hand, doesn't do it justice. The only atmosphere it gives off is one of boredom.
