i wish somebody would reply to my Slow thread, listen to "In Deep" which is on side 2 of "Against the Glass" in the video I posted it starts at 6:53... let me know what you think, I have as I said met tons of people from Vancouver who say Green River is a poor man version of Slow, who I know Mark Arm has said was a huge inspiration on them... even though both of them released their debuts around the same time, Slow was around before them, starting under the name Chuck and the F*cks and SiSo before changing their name to Slow... Green River even played with them over the years as well as at Slow's farewell show.
If you like grunge, and wanna hear the roots of it, you will not be disappointed with them.

I've listened to Mudhoney's discog a lot but I feel like I don't know it well at all.
They're pretty decent at writing love songs, moreso than most grunge bands. Shit like "In my Finest Suit" and "By Her Own Hand" is genuine without any sap.
