Pantera was another one of those bands that opened doors for me into better realms of metal.
Damageplan would have been nothing without Dimebag. They'd just be another typical alt. metal band. Cowboys from Hell through and including Great Southern Trend Kill are my favorites.

I like Pantera more than Metallica.
Does that make me a bad person? |

my favorite album from Pantera is Far Beyond Driven. VDoP was really good, but i don't think FBD gets enough credit as it's them really starting to use the groove elements in their music.
and yeah, it's ok to like Pantera more than Metalica

yeah, that was before Phil Anselmo joined the band, when believe it or not, they were originally a glam metal outfit.

Hey, I`ve just come across this thread and without doubt Pantera are one of my all time fav metal bands and albums like "A Vulgar Display of Power" and "The Great Southern Trendkill" would always make high positions on any all time fav metal albums list of mine. As for best songs, its a hard choice but these came straight to mind:
Cemetery Gates Fu**ing Hostile This Love Goddamn Electric Walk A New Level Hollow Psycho Holiday Drag the Waters The Art of Shredding |
