One of the few bands that actually does something with the At The Gates worship so many bands are playing these days. The riffs are Swedish in origin, and yet they sound refreshing. In times when ripping off bands is as common as dudes wearing chick pants, The Abscence revitalizes the scene with a very strong debut

Meh, I'm getting into Thrash more, so it's growing on me, but I can see what you mean. There wasn't many new ideas on it.
