At the minute, Hungry For Stink is my fave, but it changes with my mood.

Anyone want to give me a link so that I can hear them? I feel very deprived...
|
Search Myspace, I think they have one...
|
urrgghhh, so much work... I have to get up in 9 hours...
|
Ummm, they have a purevolume page.
It only has two songs on it though. I suggest downloading a couple of tracks from LimeWire or something. |
yeah they're pretty good!
I shall try and find more of their work... |
Hungry For Stink album
|
Everglade is a pretty well known song by them. I like it well enough
L7 is pretty ok though. I don't know too much about them outside their music. . . but . . . L7 and a ton of other girl bands should get together and do a neo riot girl movement concert. (Makes sense in my mind anyhow) |
The s/t album is probably my favorite

hiatus since 2001
Quote:
After the 90's ended I only noticed their songs on movie soundtracks. According, to wikipedia they are on a indefinite hiatus hiatus since 2001... Finch left the band after the third album, Hungry for Stink, which was released in the summer of 1994 while they were on the Lollapalooza tour. Sparks and Greta Brinkman played bass on The Beauty Process: Triple Platinum, after which Gail Greenwood became the bassist. The band's most recent album Slap-Happy, was released in 1999, and did not chart on either side of the Atlantic ocean. Greenwood then left and was replaced by Janis Tanaka. By 2001 the band was no longer touring. According to the band's website, "L7 are on an indefinite hiatus. We know that's vague, but that's just the way it is. The future of the band is a bit up in the air at the moment." Donita Sparks is currently pursuing her own solo career (see donitasparks. com, along with drummer Dee Plakas and two other guitarists, so L7 appears to be defunct for all practical purposes. The band made an appearance in the 1994 John Waters film Serial Mom under the name "Camel Lips", a reference to the visual imprint of a woman's vulva in the crotch of too-tight jeans. The song "****list" appears on the soundtracks of the films Natural Born Killers & Pet Sematary II and "Pretend We're Dead" appears on the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas soundtrack. |
It's a shame they sould reunite for one or two more albums. I heard them on a couple of soundtracks to and I believe one of their songs was in a movie I don't know if that's true but I think I heard one on Hype!
|
L7 are pretty hot.
Drama is a good one along with all the classics ya hear about. Is there much of a low grungy scene still around seattle...? PLease let there be. I'm Keen! |
I don't think there is anymore now the whole Emo thing is around, but Grunge is alive in different places and in different people. It's not stationary anymore.
|
Grunge is gooood I remember it was really popular here before emo, well Nirvana were anyway. Now all the kids are scene and emo so no one likes grunge :(
|
Cheer up at least people still listen to it, rather than dress it or talk like it I think it's far better to listen than anything else.
|
no fashion- fashion in Seattle
The style in Seattle isn't "grunge" anymore except for the older native Seattlites and a few crusty punks around Seattle-who always dressed down in ripped up clothes, denim, combat boots.
Right now Seattle is into "geek chic" sweaters and glasses and it's not a fashion statement even. Just no fashion sense at all computer techies. The scenseters/hipsters are wearing mod mops, Elvis Costello glasses and ride scooters. But it's quite a pathetic small and geeky scene. Young underage kids are wearing enmo/mallcore clothhes they see on MTV and find in the malls ie. Hot Topic. Seattle has always been kinda fashion retarded. |
I wouldn't use retarded but maybe challenged, they need alittle style but hey if there happy that way leave them alone.........Or pick on em
|
challenged of course- very challenged! |
Quote:
But yeah, it is pretty gay like that. |
haha anyone from seattle?
|
No. But I have family that lives their, I vist once every summer so I sort of notice what's going on.

The homeless and crackheads dowtown and  up on Capitol Hill and the Central District...geeks and nerds everywhere...lots more of the geeks than any other type. College kids, indie rockers and microsoft programmers. Not the blue collar grunge days of Kurt Cobain and before. |
