The Official Rage Against The Machine thread
I've heard some different rumors and stories from people, but does anyone know why Rage Against the Machine broke up? Some say politics, some say the direction the band was going, and some say other stuff. I know this is old news, but I was just talking about it the other day with a friend. What have you heard?

nope,
Zach de la Rocha wanted to pursue a solo career. . . (which I'd have to say I do enjoy his material he released but hes pretty much tanked already heh heh ) thats why they are still together, just with Chris Cornell

goth babe i disagree, i thort musically audioslave are as good or at least almost as good as rage. Chris Cornell has a totally different style of voice though and its alot less agressive and alot calmer. Chris has a hugely powerful voice but i guess whatever you think about the band it is all up to personal opinion. I agree that rage against the machine piss all over audioslave but both are good. I Have to agree (sort of)
Quote:
First, Chris, despite a great live show, seems to spend more time showing off his voice than writing his lyrics. Second, There are a few places on the audio Slave Cd where you can actualy hear cut and past ops or Fx insertions.... Thats just a shame, granted they put it out fast, but seriously, thats rookie. (I still enjoy AS, this is not a condemnation) As far as Rage break up....that display by Tim at the MTV thing certainly didn't help.... There was also a good Interview witht Tom and Tim (I think those two) in a back issue of Guitar World> |
